Pepper By Patrick Aubert

I thought Pepper was a good representation of why communication is vital in a relationship. I’m sure this film was meant to be a light comedy, but I think the scenario in this short is very common. I think the acting was well done, and the film was clever about its messaging.

The main character does not seem comfortable with the idea of introducing another person into her relationship, but she does it to please her partner and soon regrets her decision. Relationships are about compatibility and trust, and the main character appears jealous. She senses a lack of control in her relationship, and that worries her. Her partner may truly love her back, but the door to other possibilities has been opened. The main character can now communicate how she feels or let it go; there is no point in getting jealous about something she agreed to do.
